Sometimes called the Scenic City, Owen Sound is found nestled in the valley of the Niagara Escarpment, on the shores of southern Georgian Bay. Offering a mix of urban amenities and natural activities, Owen Sound is an ideal stop along the Georgian Bay Coastal Route.
Follow the path of the Sydenham River as it crashes over the limestone cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment at Inglis Falls, winding its way through the rugged and lush landscape to beautiful Harrison Park before gently making its way through the downtown streets on its way to Georgian Bay.
Hike the Bruce Trail as it skirts the city. Stop to marvel the view of Owen Sound and the Bay while perched high above it all atop a magnificent escarpment cliff.
Join in the celebration of folk music at the annual Summerfolk Festival held each August. Chart a course through the bay, or drop a line for some excellent fishing during the Salmon Spectacular fishing derby.
