Day 2

After an early breakfast, gas up and hit the trails, heading north up the beautiful Bruce Peninsula.  You’re following one of Ontario’s most scenic stretches today, through forested areas to bluffs that look out over Georgian Bay.  From Owen Sound, follow the B trail to Wiarton, where you’ll catch B107.  When you arrive in Lion’s Head, stop for some grub and a warm up at the Lion’s Head Inn.  Once you’re full and warm, gas up and set your sights on Tobermory (take B107 to B108), where you’ll spend the night.  Be sure to top up your fuel in Miller Lake as you pass through as gas is sometimes not available in Tobermory. Please note gas stops are infrequent on the Peninsula.  Riders should gas up in Lion’s Head and Miller Lake to avoid any problems along the way. Please reserve rooms in Tobermory in advance.

Distance:
Owen Sound to Tobermory via snowmobile trails (approximately 270 km (168 miles), approximately 8 hours) Note - the Peninsula section is very twisty and distance takes time.

Day 3

Returning to the trails, you’re heading back to Owen Sound today.  Lion’s Head is half way and a great place to gas up, so plan to stop here again on your way through.  Once you’ve topped up the fuel, you can choose to take B107 back to Wiarton, or follow a different route along B108 through Pike Bay and Howdenvale.  However you chose to get there, follow both trails to Wiarton, where you’ll pick  up the B Trail back to Owen Sound.  Back in Owen Sound, load your gear and head out, or check in and enjoy a relaxing dinner at one of Owen Sound’s many restaurants.
